How we work
Editorial policy
Practical guidance that makes evidence, limitations, review status, and commercial relationships visible.
01
Start with the shopper
We define the real job, setting, constraints, and likely trade-offs before considering products. The same item can be a strong fit for one shopper and a poor fit for another.
02
Use current evidence
Factual product claims must map to current, appropriate sources. Primary manufacturer, regulator, standards-body, and programme sources are preferred. We do not copy customer reviews, star ratings, listings, or media without suitable rights.
03
Keep boundaries clear
We distinguish facts from analysis, state when an item was not personally tested, and avoid unsupported guarantees or health, safety, financial, legal, and performance promises. Generic buying guides are labelled as such.
04
Review commercial content
Commercial drafts require compliance checks and independent review before publication. A possible affiliate commission does not decide inclusion or conclusions.
05
Maintain freshness
Published dates and material update dates are shown. Missing, stale, or contradictory evidence can block, pause, correct, or retire content rather than being filled with assumptions.
06
Correct the record
Send the page title, disputed statement, and a reliable supporting source to our public contact email. Material uncertainty may cause a page to be paused while the evidence is reviewed.
